The Who – Love Reign O’er Me, 09Feb
Freaky really…. Whenever I wonder why God hadn’t put anything in my head over the last few days to write about, then God inevitably puts something very quick in my head within a couple hours. This is no exception – I turned on the radio to my favorite DJ and the song he put on by the WHO. This song is exactly fitting to my awakening experience of God sending rain for Christmas Flood. The lyric “the dry and dusty road. The nights we spend apart alone… I need to get back home to cool, cool rain”… That’s me as the dry soil (Luke 8) not able to absorb Jesus as a real entity in me… I need JESUS to get me back home to God, eternally… We all do… So many just don’t realize that they need God in ALL HIS forms… “Oh God, I need a drink of cool cool rain…”
I had this Christmas Flood and wrote that piece independent of all other rain connections, I swear it was from original thought of what was happening to me… But how it has duplications over and over in so many songs and scriptures overwhelms me… Every hair on our heads, YES God knows what we need… We are blessed from His rain – and Reign…
“Love, Reign O’er Me” – The WHO
Only love can make it rain
The way the beach is kissed by the sea
Only love can make it rain
Like the sweat of lovers layin’ in the fields
Love, reign o’er me Love, reign o’er me
Rain on me, rain on me
Only love can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky
Only love can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high
Love, reign o’er me
Rain on me, rain on me
Love, reign o’er me
Rain on me, rain on me
On the dry and dusty road
The nights we spend apart alone
I need to get back home to cool, cool rain
I can’t sleep, and I lay, and I think
The night is hot and black as ink
Oh God, I need a drink of cool, cool rain
Love, reign o’er me
Reign o’er me, o’er me, o’er me
Love, reign o’er me, o’er me Love
