Keep Going Through It!

Standard

Wow – 6 years since my 2nd shoulder surgery! Barely think about it now except for the realization that I got through it! I LEPT onto that surgery table for releasing scar tissue holding me back from 100% rotation. I appreciate now (strong memory of a distant time) of God holding me in all situations – carrying me through. Winston Churchill hill said: If you’re going through hell, KEEP GOING

YES – DON’T DWELL.

This shoulder issue of course was a blessing in disguise, crazy to say about a shoulder injury but also it was in the recovery, a blessing to know now that God even used my pain for His gain and my gain too.

Let me explain:

Torn rotator cuff – Clean tear from terrible fall – now every loose paper on my floor is remediated. Slip hazards abound – take the time to step carefully.

Torn rotator cuff and frozen shoulder – awesome doctor – unbelievable PT- 76 freedom visits June to December- the Lord gave me endless hope and motivation. ‘Eye of the Tiger’ still my theme song. PT people my witnesses to praise – so many conversations about prayer.

Torn rotator cuff – friends friends friends  – meals, rides, flowers, smiles… love hope charity joy… thanks God endlessly for all these friends. Oh, and clarity in many different public and private things in my life – blessing for clarity when you are forced to stop and let the dust settle… Yes, take “set backs” as times to ponder and let God go ahead of you, because He knows that road He wants you to travel.

Torn rotator cuff surgery  – recovery time – thanks Lord for work flexibility and benefits – and friends…

Recovery – oh, time time time… Did you know that I was 200 plus devotions behind in uploading to my blog site? I had promised the Lord that I would be only a month between writing and uploading… well… Guess What? God found me the blessed time  – click click click…  WHEW,  WHEN YOU MAKE A PROMISE TO GOD – KEEP IT!!!

Recovery – really I walked through it  – really God led me – really what IS the verse of all verses for this? For anything and everything recovery? Psalm 23. Of course Psalm 23 – though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…  YEAH KEEP WALKING – DON’T STOP – DON’T DWELL.

I would never choose the pain and the hard way – but I learned (and we learn) – the Lord walks WITH us.

So keep going.

Amen.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Isaiah 25:1, 4

Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago…. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.
