Israel/Gaza News and the Seven Sayings of Jesus on the Cross

Standard

What a blessing of a resource of learning – a current series of sermons by Pastor Joe – all available online – which I often listen to in my commutes – the seven sayings of Jesus on the cross – with this last one this weekend – interesting to listen and blessed to learn… especially with the tremendous news of a big increase in tensions and warfare between the Gaza strip and the nation of Israel. Kidnappings and too, ugh, it was a church service that I needed to hear Pastor Joe explain it first person understanding – an expert in comparison to my basic knowledge. Oh was so important reminder to hear and to acknowledge what we are to do: Lift up our heads because our redeemer is coming AND keep busy encouraging and sharing the gospel, AND keep praying for all – all people lost and found – pray for the revival before and after the rapture. It was so important for me to hear what is going on in a country which I know very little about and yet know it IS a crucial land before now and from now – every day closer to Jesus returning, the Bible tells us the happenings to watch out for, especially Jesus to return…

No one knows the hour of Jesus’s return and therefore we need to be ready – to get everything that we need to get right with the Lord and do it with haste – make amends with people – forgive people – all that good stuff – not always easy but needed… Pastor Joe reminded us to live in the hope of the eternal point of view. “a purifying hope”…

1st service on the app – 5 minute chat at the 35 minute mark then sermon of saying #7: The Seventh Utterance from the Cross https://ccphiladelphia.subspla.sh/tjpdqdn

2nd service had a condensed chat – slightly different later version that same morning – at 20 minute mark then the sermon: https://resources.ccphilly.org/SAM1316

Now – these seven sayings of Jesus – in addition to the sermons series that you should be able to find on the website (seven links at https://resources.ccphilly.org/current.asp)  There are even Wikipedia pages for these seven sayings. It’s a remarkable record of Jesus preparing the Way being very God and also Him being so very human. Jesus thought of us from beginning to end. It’s not just a Way to Forever, it’s the forgiveness Forever. I remember once a pastor saying that there is no other religion that speaks of the mercy and the forgiveness as well as the compassion that we find in Jesus. There is no Lord like our Lord, a Savior who redeems us all. Jesus.

Thank You Jesus for You. Prayers for all to find You. Thank You for seeking out me.

Thank You Jesus for saving us. Thank You Lord for knowing what to do.

Prayers for all people – in this time and in the future – forgive them Father for they know now what they do. (us too).

Amen

1) Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

2) Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

3) Woman, behold thy son! and Behold thy mother!

4) My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

5) I thirst.

6) It is finished.

7) Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
