Applying the Power of Prayer is an everyday choice.
My cousins are doing preparations for my uncle’s memorial, couple weeks from now. In communications, our other cousins and I have been discussing travel via text and email and even phone calls. Prayers on getting there following prayers on if we are going. We discussed back and forth about driving vs flying, attending vs not, some wanting to go but being financially crunched, and the logistics of going with immediate or close-by extended family or not. When both my adult kids decided to go, it became a little easier to decide to fly, instead of the many hours car trip… It was and is both logistics and family need in consideration. I too have my tipping points of comfort.
Applying the Power of Prayer is an everyday choice. Prayers on getting there safely apply to both plane and car and train, packing and work and all. Prayers help. Prayers PLEASE the Lord. Prayers show we KNOW WHO IS IN CHARGE. Prayers acknowledge that we need the help of the Almighty. PRAYERS WORK.
APPLY PRAYER in everything.
One cousin was going to travel but now is not as she weighed it back and forth, and she prayed on it and decided she is going to stay home and send her best to everyone. In our discussion came relief for a decision. The prayers helped her for sure, she needed to have that assurance for she already had a gut feeling about not going.
Me too, my gut feeling of flying switched therefore from not a burden into more of an adventure with my crew, as well as a teaching moment in adulting with logistics of flying as waiting rather than driving. We could have arranged many choices, but THE RELIEF IS IN DECIDING and GOING WITH IT. Then steps to follow get laid down and you can return to other life planning. Best we pray and yet acknowledge multiple paths are viable, like ice cream flavors there are many GOOD choices in life. There might be bad choices in life too, but consulting the Lord is always GOOD. LISTENING IS EVEN BETTER.
Other and ALL planning and adventuring surely are best in ALIGNMENT WITH GOD, VIA PRAYERS FOR GUIDANCE. Respecting the absolute TRUTH that God’s ideas are above ours, makes us realize He sees the future best.
Best we not be too worldly and be weighted down. Applying prayers puts us on HIS FLIGHT.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:4-8
Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
Rejoice always, PRAY CONTINUALLY, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
