The Song of the Lamb OVERCOMES, Revelation 15

Standard

Of the unknowns of our future, there is this major KNOWN: We WILL be SINGING in Heaven. We will hear SINGING, we will know who is SINGING, and we will add to the SINGING. AND we will all know WHOM we are singing about and for.

We sing the song of the Lamb who OVERCOMES! “Sweet Victory in Jesus” – is a hymn that fills my head whenever I see a great craft display on my windowsill that says VICTORY in Jesus – of the displacement of the tomb with the victory of Easter. “O GLORIOUS VICTORY, THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD.”

There will be trials in our future, and in the greatest of hard times, yet the book of Revelation states there will be people who have to endure more punishment surely than we endure right now, these people to be martyrs for their faith in Jesus. And they also will be singing in Heaven, singing of Jesus overcoming: “they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.”

The Song of the Lamb, sung with thankfulness surely, will be great and marvellous… and the singing will surely be of admiration of victory – both over sin and death and in anticipation of final victory over evil.

God’s strength in people overcomes the worst of times. And there should be some serious singing in serious healthy fear of the wrath of God. . God’s wrath overcomes the worst in evil. God’s wrath is not to be ignored. I believe that we can overcome fear with singing, we can celebrate JOY with song too.

What an interesting balance of life.

Just and true are God’s ways. To fear God in a healthy way is to give Him the credit for His Sovereignty over all. And us? We should be assured that we will be singing when all is come and done and begun again.

Amen

Revelation 15 KJV

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
