There is common sense,
There is Scooby sense,
There is Spider sense,
And There is “Shut your trap, the Lord is doing something here!” sense…
YEAH!
And that’s what we need, to TRUST the Lord in enough to watch Him work, trust that He IS working, and follow HIS Plan, not ours.
Work the situation, Work the scene, Work the problems, work the solutions. But there is no “work the spirit” – because it is the Spirit to work us.
And the Lord will work from His whole OTHER set of logistics, not ours. Let me call them LORDistics, not just logistics.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Last night at the Vacation Bible School meeting, the scripture on the notepad matched the scripture on my bracelet, which is one given out at my friend’s funeral last year: “I can do ALL things through CHRIST, Who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13. Scriptures like that, which show up ALL THE TIME, include scriptures like “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Rom 12:12. In other words, the LORD is working His LORDistics over your logistics.
A LOG-istic that my friend is dealing with is the repair to her house which had a tree LOG crush part of the roof – hey no big deal right? well it JUST went on the market – and well and well… But the friend had just moved out – the room was empty – no one was hurt – there are insurance claims and adjusters doing their thing – there are logistics to the LOGistics – and there are MUCH bigger plans that the Lord has for the situation where she is now – helping with her grandkids and well and well and well –
Well, I will choose to see the LORD-istic in this all – and that is what we should be looking at all the time – the LORD-istic OVER the logistic – and the LOG-istic too. There is a Process, There must be prayer, patience, petition, persistence, and perseverance.
And I can’t help but think about the scriptures of Joseph and His dream coat, and the years of tough life and then in Egypt (a Vacation Bible School theme I am helping with next week), as Joseph is able to rescue his brothers, all of Jacob’s sons, and his father Jacob, and the Egyptians, well…. that was a LORDistic for sure. Joseph would say: what was meant for evil, the Lord meant for good!!! Genesis 50:20
May we wait on the “LORDistic”, accept the logistic, be the optimistic, and be Spiritualistic. THAT is the hope in the Abundant Life, the Lord promises, TRUST HIM!!!!!
AMEN
Isaiah 55 NKJV
An Invitation to Abundant Life
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.
Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people,
A leader and commander for the people.
Surely you shall call a nation you do not know,
And nations who do not know you shall run to you,
Because of the Lord your God,
And the Holy One of Israel;
For He has glorified you.”
Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
“For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
