BEEEEEing Home

Standard

Ah, good to be home from visiting home over the weekend – yes – and to be home is like to bee home – to be bee me – to bee wherever I can fly… I am ok being the busy busy busy bee. (My kids were both busy – on campus of at work – so I had the opportunity to hop in the car and go) And so Someday maybe I will sit for a week camping and beee resting – but not now – beeeelieve me – appreciate the busy.)

Beeeeing that it is summer – I got to go to the local fair- yay – and ohhhhh the beeautiful delicious chicken BeeeeBeeeeQue – YUM – and salt potatoes – they sold out 300 halves in just about 1 hour – yes that is how it goes up there! And a nice parade and antique car show in the morning – just great to see it all. My mom was thrilled to see friends – (everyone is getting older of course – oh time flies – I mean time buzzzzzes along). Then the BINGO pavilion opened and I just enjoyed being there. Even if G 52 did not come up in my BINGO card, which would have won me $5, oh well, it was just fun to play and spend the time with my mom. No G52 BINGO but beeeeelieve it or not, geeeeez 52 degrees came up in temperature this early morning – brrrr….  but it warmed right up to 70’s – perfect for summer – and these beeeeautiful busy days. Gardens – and beee-house too – beeeeginnings of tomatoes and all.

I got to my highschool friend’s church before driving back. Stopped at some beeeeautiful blueberry bushes on the way home – rolling hills and nearly off the grid – picturesque – maybe just like what I imagine parts of Heaven will look and feel like – with us not needing sunscreen or hats of course – but picking bountiful fruit and simply enjoying life…  BEEEEELIEVE IT!

At my friend’s church I appreciated the sermon about Jacob and wrestling with God – wrestling with our non-understanding of why things are the way – and yet still having to beeeelieve that God is working – (HE IS)… I appreciated the thought that Jacob (renamed Israel) was wrestling with God and men. Separate from the sermon, I like thinking of Jacob in his old age with his 12 sons – including Joseph who was taken from him but then returned and able to super bless his father and family by bringing them to a home away from home. I also like thinking about the end of the story of Jacob where he does a switcheroo on Joseph’s sons with hands on opposite heads… I guess Israel always shows to try to reset and/or beee part of the plan that God made – but of course – it was God’s Plan all along (and above all switcheroos too)… So yes, Israel will always wrestle with God – ask Moses! – and Israel will always wrestle with men – certainly history is full of this struggle – and Jacob and Israel limped along – to be carried of course by the Lord – who will restore ALL – at the certain time. Wouldn’t it be nice some day in Heaven to sit with Jacob in that bountiful field in the sky and learn all about his struggles and yet the Lord intervening. Those will be the days BEEEEING HOME and knowing it IS the place to BE.

Home away from home can be a struggle for us in the sandwich generation – between our kids and parents – but the struggle this particular weekend wasn’t who to be with – because it seemed perfect to get away and to beeee anywhere where you could enjoy summer and family and fun…  Yes, just a touch of time here and time there – really that IS like a flower-hopping bee – venturing out – but buzzing to get home…

That is us too – that is also Jacob who was returning home – after many years – we must simply BEE where God needs us to bee. It was good to bee home (north).

Yes…  Blessed – more blessed than I can beeeeeelieve. Thank You God for not wrestling with trying to be in 2 places at once and just giving me a place to BE.

Your Bee.

Amen and Thank You Lord for travelling mercies too!

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Just as he crossed over Penuel the sun rose on him, and he limped on his hip. Genesis 32:22-31
