Thanks for allowing me this virtual release of spiritual overflow… I pray that sharing scripture that speaks to me will also lift your sails…God’s Word gives us living HOPE.
There are topics for conversation that I want to have with so many folks – about this long and forever process of emptying themselves of self and filling themselves with God’s spirit…. I long to study Christians, like case studies, of how they have handled the good and the bad coming to them… of how they are Jars of Clay and SURVIVE, because they are filled with God’s SPIRIT. Because they give us all inspiration to keep moving… A Christian mentor of mine said: “[Wouldn’t it be so much easier if we just went right to heaven after we were saved? but that’s not God’s plan, we are here to further purify ourselves (and this is hardwork) and we are to help get others on the track of God’s plan.]”
I will never stop being fascinated by God and His children… I wanted to be a psychologist growing up (meteorologist and interior decorator too) I am BLESSED to especially now live to study God’s children… I am SAVED by GRACE and I AM a child of God.. You are ALL children too who crave spiritual milk…..
Craving Pure Spiritual Milk, 18 MAR
My spirit longs to discuss Jesus and ponder God…. I could think about God all day… Honestly I wondered one year ago when I awakened if I OD’ed (overdosed) on God!!! If I was going crazy, if I am too distracted by following HIS plan… this I ask myself daily still – and still I come back to this peaceful feeling of ” it’s okay” God would not have chosen ME if HE didn’t want me 100%… YES, IT’S OK to hunger for God!!!
1st Peter 2 affirms this…
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
NO, we are no longer our own. God takes us… He certainly took me – swiftly, forcibly and forever… BLESSED to now be focusing on HIS undying LOVE and feeling the warmth from HIS arms (and OH YEAH! I have tasted that the Lord is GOOD, unbelievably GOOD)… He’s got me good.
God wants US all forever to stay close, to never want to stray… I pray you have this feeling too, I pray you taste spiritual milk and long for more… It’s overwhelming, it’s glorious, it’s God’s doing, not ours… I never chose this, didn’t think I needed this… But now I NEVER want to lose this… I accept and long for God… I was chosen… YOU ARE CHOSEN TOO!
YOU are chosen, YES!… You can accept this challenge to walk daily with God! You can let God take you and change you… Trust God…. His plan is SO much better than ours…
We are “God’s elect, exiles scattered” throughout the world.
1st Peter 2:9
“9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of HIM who called you out of darkness into his wonderful LIGHT.”
Isn’t that awesome, it’s awesome, but guess what? Salvation is ONLY a start!!! For if you have realized that you have been saved, you are now a member of this priesthood, YOU MATTER TO GOD!!! You mattered before and you continue to matter, and you have an awesome responsibility to work for God – to rid yourself of SELF and allow God to fill your jar of clay with HIS LIGHT.
Please take time whether you are a newly awakened soul, like me, or an old soul, to re-live your calling, only a few realize that they are chosen… that seems crazy… God knows HE wants YOU, that’s not crazy at all… We are BLESSED to be chosen, as detailed in the chapters of 1st Peter… Let God take control… Live in HIS loving living HOPE…
BLESSED to have living HOPE…
1 Peter 1 (NIV)
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
Praise to God for a Living Hope
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.
Be Holy
13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.] 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,
“All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”[c]
And this is the word that was preached to you.
1 Peter 2New International Version (NIV)
2 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
The Living Stone and a Chosen People
4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”
8 and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.”
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
