This Deadline has a Lifeline, 16JAN

Standard

6am cat this time…

I would say I have strange dreams normally but this dream sequence has totally been caused by me stressing about some work deadlines. And I’ve been dreaming about putting things in order because I have been thinking about order in God’s Kingdom that I REALLY don’t have in my earthly existence, and because I’ve been CLEANING (got the Christmas decorations down, cleaned and put the window plastic up just in time for 10 degrees and a Nor’easter like storm)  – Yes in my working day and in my sleeping dreams I have been trying to restore order in my postage stamp sized section of God’s Kingdom here on earth. But honestly, I will NEVER get order here, I will always have piles, have schmutz of dust and crumbs and whatnot, and if I spent my whole life here, I’ll never achieve order. Blessedly God’s Kingdom is orderly and prepared AND Jesus will be my Mr Clean, Dustbuster Brother, Salvation Scrubber.

I can’t keep up, cleaning or deadlines. But Jesus IS our Lifeline. Jesus looks at the heart, that’s where His and my cleaning will start.

And I never should focus just on myself or my piles – Jesus says the harvest is ripe but the workers few – the great commission says go out to help the flock. The best evangelical opening sentence I EVER heard (but don’t YET have the guts to say) is: “So you think you are going to Heaven because you are a good person? So that means you think that the death of Jesus was unnecessary?” WOW, YIKES, WOW.  I love the direct approach of this stinging question because it’s a true sword of truth question. Our lifeline to Heaven has NOTHING to do with us. We cannot think or try to be orderly enough, clean enough, or “good enough” as a person for getting to Heaven. Both our blunders and our original broken nature require us to be registered with the ONLY Name above all Names on the Heaven registration list. It’s not who you know to get you into an exclusive club, it’s knowing WHO you need to go before you go – that’s JESUS

Is this achievable? He’s already ACHIEVED therefore we only need to believe.

Is this believable? He’s already showed us the WAY therefore we must just Pray.

And I DON’T have to get my piles ready for Heaven, I don’t need a plan for earth dust, only to give it back to God to mold me more. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”  And we CAN’T take piles back to heaven with us either. Luckily blessedly this earth WILL roll away and no one will see our golden palace or our pigpen in Heaven (nor will anyone see our bankroll or lack of it either).

Will we hit all the deadlines we try to achieve in life? NOPE! But life does not have a DEADLINE – SO hold onto that LIFELINE Jesus, because Jesus is already holding onto you.

Amen. Love You Jesus. Your Death and Resurrection are our Heavenly Correction and Connection. Amen Amen

(PS. The cat is back)

A Letter to the Phillipians 2:1-11, 13

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a NAME which is ABOVE EVERY NAME: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
