I’m starting a short series: Jesus Teaches, Jesus Tells, Jesus Truth, Jesus Trust
Today is:
Jesus Teaches:
Jesus said – in teaching: (from Luke 6:46-49): “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
Jesus teaches this because we can call Him Lord, as some of those people did, but still not pay attention to doing what He asks – and one thing He teaches and He asks is to “TRUST HIM – to listen and hear what Jesus is saying because that is one who builds on solid ground – we have the anchor of the Lord and we won’t be shaken – we look at things and troubles not as annoyances but as more opportunities to see how Jesus will navigate us.
May we look at each day as an opportunity and not let the small stuff shake us – really put on armor of God to protect our hearts and keep moving – may we look to Jesus as LORD and hear HIM as Truth… Let us keep looking to Him.
Amen
