Poem for Humility

Standard

It might be a bit of pride,

Or experience which allows you to “let it slide”,

Or a voice that says, silently inside:

“This is how I ride.”

Face it, we all have a level of snide,

Humility is not our jive.

.

Sometimes people have a competition of Boldness,

Like saying “whose the oldest?”

Some like to brag which contains a coldness.

Others roll and shun being real, no personal closeness.

.

Let us instead be warmed by the Lord

Let us let the inside Lion of Jesus ROAR

Let us speak up in silent calmness and be quiet in extreme praise.

When we need to see something – focus on Jesus – let Him be our gaze.

Humble ourselves to know best,

Jesus is Lord – do not bother with the rest.

.

So – no need to be snide – instead take humility in stride.

And for the angst of this world – let that ride – and slide…

.

Amen
