By Our Hunger, 17MAY – #1155

Standard

There is a great truth, that people will know we are Christians by our love. How about this statement? They will know we are Christians by OUR HUNGER

We need to learn and we need to be hungry and understand and digest what we can. As we age as people and grow as Christians – we need to develop a more refined palate – less junk and more good…

I thought I would step in to visit one other church that I’ve been watching online… I appreciated so much my vaccinations (even if i was SORE after that second shot, feeling like the tinman and rusty in my movements, it only lasted one day). So with that thought of “freedom” I thought 3 churches is better than just one when you hunger like I do… Like a 3 course meal for a sunday breakfast, and it WAS convenient for their 8AM service finished before my regular church service (catching the 3rd online later). At 8AM these people certainly weren’t there by obligation, they were HUNGRY for the Word. And yes, I LOVED singing at a great volume, two songs I knew,  two I learned. I kept my mask on, I was distanced in the pew and I took in the risk assessment of life, this moment I felt safe enough.

What certainly was SPREADING was the GOSPEL, and much understanding of end times, the book of Revelation, in which this pastor has been a great help to me to explain the times. (even though I read Revelation, there is no one who can wrap their heads around all the intricacies, wow). This pastor feels we are just on the cusp of the beginning of the end. This pastor sees this pandemic as a practice. Because Jesus “is before all things, and in him all things hold together”. This pastor describes the “loose-ing of the forces” as the steps that will happen post rapture and there will be much strife to the earth. We want to be those non-earth people – be the Kingdom people – who are loving the Lord and taken up home well before the end of the earth. Once it’s JESUS JUDGEMENT TIME for all those who COULD HAVE listened and followed and didn’t, it is going to be sad but Jesus justice prevails…  He gave His tears and His life – now He will give His Judgement in due time and the stages of the Tribulation will commence… Revelation 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

ANYWAY, whatever your take on the closeness to the end, we know that our work and worship should be strong. Yes, it’s important to pay attention to the signs, and therefore imperative to pay time into following the Lord. It’s living with awareness, keeping a hunger for His Ways, which will guide us… and no matter the issues of the world, a pre-known to be BROKEN world, we look to the Redeemer of the world, Jesus. We are to argue less about things that are desires of the flesh, money, status, fluff, and put Kingdom things first.

At 9:30 – my second church service these people were ALSO HUNGRY flipping thru their bibles and discovering new understanding to what seemed like normal scripture – but it was not! Flavoring our Hunger is the UNDERSTANDING of how scripture relates to us. This sermon was about WHAT we are to judge – and especially judging right and wrong within ourselves.

And I must draw a parallel to my scripture reading this morning, studying old times, watching/reading Moses warn Pharaoh, but Pharoah not budge, watching/reading Moses direct the Israelites, but the Israelites not believe him. This pandemic has been a current study case of studying people’s willingness to either wallow or work, follow blindly or forge knowingly, follow knowingly or grumble grievously…

I see it matters less which side of any political or social situation we fall, it’s the knees we are to bow for the Savior of us all.

We will understand Him by our Hunger for His Ways. All things, all power, all people’s destinies are dependent upon the Lord. Our hearts are to be guarded and behind the armor of God driving us forward in service. Don’t get hung up on the hang ups. Snooze the sleeping giant of strife. If the Israelites didn’t understand God and His Power completely, we have no excuse. We know where we are supposed to go. God did get His people and Moses to their place. Us too. We will only get there by our love to be in and to share His love.

We have been promised a supper at His table – Revelation 19:9 – And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
Let Him know we are Christians by our HUNGER.Let’s stay HUNGRY!

Amen

Exodus 6:2-9 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+6%3A2-9&version=NIV

God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself fully known to them. I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners. Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant. “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’”Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.

Colossians 1: The Supremacy of the Son of God https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=colossians+1%3A15-20&version=NIV

15-20  The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.  For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
