I don’t know about your mom figures in your life, but I was watching one today, and then riding with her, back home up the crazy highway of construction, stressful stretch of road anytime, and a car full of the loudest of the loud girl scout girls who were just enjoying themselves, but oh I think my ears still ring, and oh I was happy to retreat to my nice quiet house. I’m not saying a quiet house is better, because certainly the loudness indicated the scene was full of life. It’s just, sometimes we have to admit that what other people can tolerate or celebrate in their season of life, we can’t so much, at least not in a time if we are in different season.
So this mom and mom-figure is a crazy awesome girl scout mom. Not only a troop leader, she’s the service unit leader and wow she’s got hundreds of girls, not just these forty that came today. Give that lady applause, ear plugs, the night off, and a million dollars. And it’s amazing she keeps going…
Mom figures in our life are admired because they keep going and going and going. We also know people who simply don’t have the energy or tolerance, so we should celebrate those who do.
In that same spirit, we should remember the spirit that never quits, our God who never forgets, our Savior who never lets us go. If there’s go, go, go in life, then let us credit God God God. And if there’s rest, peaceful, quiet time and rest, let us credit a God who got us there. God never quits.
God never quits.
God never sleeps.
God never not loves.
God never goes away or is weak.
God is good, ALL the time, and especially now.
Thank God for our moms and our mom figures.
Figures God, who makes all good things, made them for us!
Thank you God!!! Thank you moms!
Amen

Exodus 34:4-10 NKJV
Then Moses rose early in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him; and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.
Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. Then he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
The Covenant Renewed
And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.
