A dear friend just lost his pet, so many years a great companion… Truly the dog was a gift from God to my friend, just as many of our pets are to us. He was a good dog. They took care of each other. To each other they were a Godsend.
This friend was/is also a preacher and one day he was telling the special needs adult group at a church service about his dog and you could have heard a pin drop in the sanctuary, they intensely paid attention to him talking about his sweet dog. He was clearly conveying a message about the love of the dog.
Likewise, on the few weeks I visited, when my friend was preaching the gospel to these folks (and their caregivers), just about 5 or 10 minutes, it always seemed the special needs adults mostly calmed quietly. Less jittery. Less distractions. Less noise. It was mysteriously marvelous. They were clinically mentally challenged, but it seemed that when the Word of God was spoken, they were faithfully fulfilled by the Good Word in that good environment. That’s not just cool, that’s God. And how amazing that He IS a Good Good God. That’s the mystery of His Ways.
“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1Cor2
I also listened intensely and intently whenever my friend would preach the Word. I was drawn to TRUTH and even now realize I was living as if the Lord was cracking open the unopened unwrapped newness in my gift of Spirit. And my Spirit still has yearn to learn. One day, a separate moment, our pastor was saying how amazed he was that the Word, that this first preaching friend said, had touched him so deeply, such perfect timing. My friend said: “Well you know that’s not me, right?” That’s truth for us to remember, the Spirit uses us to reach others.
God not only has control of our situations, He has something to teach us about ourselves, and always something to say thru His Word. He calls us to listen, but it is how “in tune” we are that helps us comprehend what He means. Inside us is where we can comprehends the Spirit spoken. The Spirit hidden there wants to be aware, because God Himself placed and holds Himself protected inside us. Jesus asked God the Father for this Advocate to be with us.
The Holy Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 1Cor2
God’s servants serve the Spirit.
Another friend preacher, who listened to the Spirit within, made a move to an army training base as a chaplain. Great to follow him on Facebook. He’s been baptizing many many army recruits, as adults becoming aware of theircommitment to the LORD’S ARMY. So beautiful to see this movement of the Lord. Over the weekend this preacher moved up one soldier in the crowd watching the baptism line who was in full tears, knowing the movement of the Spirit. He was baptizing him in full uniform. All watching, by the Spirit, truly knew this was the life changing movement of the Lord’s Spirit FOR the Lord FOR that soul.
God knows us, so He sent Himself to help.
Each of us fully human are continually tapping more and more into our Spirit from Him, IF we listen and obey. Our Spirits get unwrapped from the protective wrapping inside, just in God’s Timing. This Spiritual awakening awareness can be heard as a continual crinkle inside our souls of the plastic wrap coming off, a need for our souls to ABSORB the Living Water of Jesus, hydrating and healing. We are a Spirit Sponge, actually we are spiritual mud made from dust which absorbs the water laid on us by our Potter, our Creator. Our vessels made stronger by the hard pressing of the world outside, but don’t crumble because of the building by the Spirit from within. God’s dust holds water.
He IS a Good Good God. God holds His Hope for us inside. Our GPS, our God Positioning System, TRUST HIM.
Amen
(Just now, my Godsend of a cat jumped up as I finish, she sits patiently as if an angel told her to chill.)
I believe in God the Father, Jesus His Only Son, and the Holy Spirit, God three in One.
With Him, our dust has just begun.
Amen Amen

Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as his counselor? Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?
Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust. Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings. Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.
With whom, then, will you compare God? To what image will you liken him? As for an idol, a metalworker casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it. A person too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot; they look for a skilled worker to set up an idol that will not topple.
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground,
than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
“To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Isaiah 40:13-26
