One of the many reasons I work at my workplace is that I’ve always had plenty of people to talk out my problems with and had an opportunity to listen to theirs (work or otherwise). We problem solve, we vent, we understand each other, and often we realize things aren’t so bad compared to what others go through. (And we do work at work too, LOTS of work)…
That’s the corner conversation by the coffee machine, the after-meeting mulling over, and the random not random intercept to someone’s rant, ours too. That’s us able to talk it out… And listen…
What about remote working? Call up the people. Reach out… read and write messages in chat conversations. Listen.
That’s us too with the Lord. Talk it out. Be in a place to be honest. Vent. Voice. ConVerse-ation. Prayers are not always or ever needing to be formal PowerPoint presentations, prayers can be an informal cooler conversations of the day with the Lord who wanted you to realize He was orchestrating the day anyway. An attitude of decompression, in prayer, can be like sitting around the table for happyhour and saying “Jesus, did you hear that? Geez, did you see that?”…. and imagine Jesus saying that to you? Jesus saying: “Did you see how your problem was answered? Did you see me intervene here? Did you notice Me in the person coming to ask for your help and friendship today?… With the Lord, we problem solve, we vent, we understand and we realize things aren’t so bad compared to what others go through. Compare any of your uneasiness with Jesus’s treatment by people and He certainly DOES understand.
Talk it out with the Lord.
Prayerful life activities alone can include reading His chat messages to you. From snippets of psalms to colorful stories of how He handled things. Of course our gathering together with his faithful increases our faith. We all realize we ARE God’s remote team on location. Of precious alone time with just us and God are actually suggested by God.
One of the devotions I read this week essentially said: DON’T rehearse your day, just go live it. Encounter things with an attitude of there WILL be challenges and there WILL be joys. Walk WITH me… At each moment: TALK IT OUT or just understand and BE.
…for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him….
Let us approach today (speaking and listening) in a fresh way, His Way, for Jesus is walking WITH us. Let’s talk the Walk. Then walk the Talk.
Amen

Jesus instructed (in Matthew 6:6-15):
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
