A Blessing of Attitude

Standard

New photos yesterday of the car and the impaled headlight – just crazy – and this post will hopefully finish my complaining and move me to processing and then out to a new thing – and trust me there are new things everyday to get excited about.

So, my wonderful neighbor said the right thing to remind me – that it is a blessing of attitude to find as a “hidden” not hidden blessing in a situation like this – the attitude is what drives our actions and reactions and non-actions and how much more chaos we decide to put into the world or to refrain from doing so…  And so my attitude started morphing from being mad to being resigned to “it is what it is” to being reworked to see that this attitude of gratitude and blessing of attitude is what will keep ME most calm and productive.

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.

And as for the first productive thing today, I cleaned out my purse while waiting at the car dealer for my inspection and the plan forward with the headlight. And with an organized purse, I then placed out many of my faith scripture cards from my purse for a photo – including the most important reminder to “Let your LIGHT SHINE” – yeah… It is OK to be angry and frustrated – but we should not let it damper our shine or let our whine affect our shine…

The funny thing about that headlight impalement is that it didn’t break any bulbs – actually my whole car passed inspection with no bulbs out – which is unusual for me – and well, the LIGHT will shine – and I even wrapped my broken headlight up in plastic for the rainstorm – and thank God for the break in temperature. A cooler life and cooler head helps keep a cool attitude instead of red hot headed.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Reading the scripture cards and also having the nice interactions that I had today – well that was so good – and the clean purse – and the time on the laptop – and the ability to sit and think – and oh yeah, the time to file the insurance claim – good…

And so let me and let we to pray for a good attitude towards life in all it’s minor hiccups. And my tshirt? a homage to the Grateful Dead: “What a long strange trip it’s been.”…

The Proverbs 17: 19, 20, 22, 24, say:

Whoever loves a quarrel loves sin; whoever builds a high gate invites destruction.

One whose heart is corrupt does not prosper; one whose tongue is perverse falls into trouble.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.

Proverbs 25:26-28 NKJV

A righteous man who falters before the wicked Is like a murky spring and a polluted well.

It is not good to eat much honey; So to seek one’s own glory is not glory.

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.

AMEN
