EARTHSHINE – Light in the Darkness

Standard

The rapid eclipse darkness was cool (yes it was rainy then overcast in my eclipse viewing site, oh well) but the company was even COOLER! Wow! With nearly 200 people at an event at the golf course country club bar and grill it was going to be fun in all ways…. and yummy food…

Totality zone. Totality in Treasured Time.

BEST EVER was for getting to spend an hour with an emeritus professor and his wife, awesome! Dr. P. taught me how to keep a real science notebook in chemistry class over 30 yrs ago, wow!!! I spent much time at his house revisiting over the years too. He came to my wedding… always gave me great advice… I’m SO thankful for my college days and especially for the wonderful mentors that the Lord has put in my life. And yeah awesome that my frosh roommate and friends were there to witness the eclipse too, and so cool to hear an astronomy professor’s lecture too!!! And, yeah, oh the moon sun eclipse cookies were tasty! Yum with the Sun!

(Of course it was later sunny, LOL, for a nice sunset, oh well…)

My spiritual science geek experience with the actual eclipse was that the darkness grew strangely fast, then as darkness held for a minute moment, it showed the sky to have a glow around the edges, then we saw the darkness flee, the LIGHT GREW EVEN FASTER than the dark had gotten dark… The LIGHT overcomes the dark always!

My question to the astronomy professor was about light from the earth bouncing to the moon, and he said that’s called EARTHSHINE ! THAT’S SO COOL to observe and to know this term! We all reflect this phenomena and we should be shedding light on the world here as an EARTHSHINE for God’s Love beaming through us!

As a day FILLED with things going on, a day full of activity, not just FILLED with clouds, the darkness was interesting but the LIGHT WAS more awesome.  So, my observation and faith is that darkness will creep away from our lives. Let us look to God to shine in the darkness – and then let us be His EARTHSHINE LIGHT of Love to others every day!

BLESSED in Knowing: The LIGHT SHINES in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

AMEN

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew. Proverbs 3:13-20

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Genesis 1:1-5
