P.U.S.H.

Standard

This phrase has helped me immensely this week. It’s an acronym repeated to me from my friend Deacon Don: P.U.S.H. =  Pray Until Something Happens.  Ah… yeah!!!!

When I got frustrated with some things this week – I PUSHED – but not pushing me but pushing the agenda (not too much but just enough and in God’s timing) – and bringing forth convincing hard evidence rather than angry steam. (taking the time to know the audience.)

I pushed my agenda yes, and I pushed my self to not collapse in frustration but to stand strong. and I P/U/S/H-ed, I Prayed Until Something Happened – and I PRAISED until I understood. Not praising idle nor idol but ideal – Pray without ceasing.

Seriously we have ALL had times to turn to God and actively ask: ‘How do I overcome this?’ – ‘How do I keep working around this?’ – ‘How do I (most importantly) not get MORE frustrated here?’ – Well, when we look for the bread of life, we often find it is God on a roll, and in motion, and so with that I kept rolling.

GOOD outlets were(are) being still and waiting where there was no emergency yet – for wading in the water until Jesus called(calls) me – for channeling pain into productive writing – if anything, God got more work out of me in positive ways than in frustration. God PUSHED me His Way when the world pushed my wrong buttons. God paused me for looking and thinking and acting BIG PICTURE!

Yes, at first my frustrations found the right trusted ears to release some steam and minimize explosions -not to make implosions but to make new excavations – and new understandings of where I was to wait – and work in other ways – what I was to do in that waiting – and yet still make progress. And isn’t it MORE effective to PUSH with a SMILE than fight with a back-bite.  In all, one stoppage became several new streams of encouragement and like rays from the sun, I looked and found God’s SHINE. There is too much LIGHT here to accept any work in darkness. QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT !!!

PUSH – PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS – time and time again keep praying – not praying in idle ways but in active hope – in fueling fire – and in redirecting flow.

Prayers, you know, redirect our flow.

P.R.A.Y.  I.T. – Pray Righteousness Against Your Indignation TODAY.

Amen

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24
