I woke up and thought about my dream in which I was productive and felt so good. I tried some work at my job searching but then was swamped by a scam in the making which had 3 red flags – the name was different between the business card attached and the email – the email address had a clear missssspelling, and the job seemed way to good to be true in compensation for a something somewhere that I know for fact is not being valued highly at the moment… sketchy… So, my other activity of the day was much more CLEAR – meaning that it was clearly something that was benefitting me – and was overdue – and was free to do – I washed my windows and then even moved on to washing the siding on the shady spot of the house.
I think my 2 hours of labor was not laborious but life-giving light-shedding enlightening light duty work. I can’t believe how much a difference that little work did – and just with the classic recipe of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water – a recipe that my aunt told me about while I was talking to her on the phone much of the time I was also cleaning the windows… Effective and efficient and exactly what I haven’t done in 2 years maybe 5 or 6 or 10… Yeah window cleaning.
There were 2 scriptures in my head the whole time – one I have now forgotten and the other being about taking the plank out of your eye before you mention the speck in your neighbor’s eye. Yes – this window cleaning was a big plank of blockage to me seeing out – and me seeing in (as in what I needed to do – as in how did I not notice how dirty my windows and doors and siding was…)
And that is us in life – we have NO IDEA how down and out we would be without the Lord’s cleaning – we have NO IDEA how Merciful God’s Grace is – nor how Graceful His Mercy is given. We are dirty in terms of sin and death – and we are blind in terms of not seeing – and we are lost until we are found – and trust me that God never loses us so it is us that must need to be clearer looking for Him.
We are to wash the windows of our faith.
And SHINE more of His Face
We thank God for His Grace
And keep running the race…
Amen
(and maybe I will remember that other scripture – hmmmm….)
