Allow me this moment to sit and appreciate my backyard – And the LUSHNESS of the flowers in the containers and garden beds this year. I prayed and asked and asked and asked my stay home kids to water my containers while I was away on my big trip – they did – even despite the terrible air quality from the wildfires.
Every day I have to water these gardens, including my new addition, a three drawer clothes dresser trash picked from a rainstorm and now filled with flowers plus basil which replaced bolting radishes… and the gladiola flowers this season actually grew completely straight up… GORGEOUS and LUSH…
Do you know this summer has felt amazing and has gone by quickly, even if it’s still only half gone. They are fun times coming up like beach days and the agricultural fair, baseball games, but imagine the things we ALREADY did in THIS SEASON that were so much fun but we realized are so temporary…
Temporary stuff included that great steam train that came through many towns and is a puff of smoke disappeared… temporary stuff included a fun America 250 celebration, beautiful fireworks, which seem like they fizzled out now… SEASONS shift…
A friend and I remarked that we saw a couple fireflies, and how did we miss that season? Only to be reminded that there’s a couple left even in the heat… summer days are getting shorter, but there’s still much to enjoy…
Today in vacation bible school, we will teach about GOD’S FOREVER. We will try to explain forever to younger kids who think we as older have been living forever – but we have not… and yet we know we are “but a mist”, we are so temporary on this earth…
These flowers will fade, but in Heaven, God is already watering THE gardens. The sun and the moon and the earth will pass away, but God already has the most beautiful plans for all of us… and the Lord Himself will be our Light, Life, Love…
I’m looking forward to it, but I’m going to sit right now and just absorb the feeling of summer sun before it burns, the sight of greens and reds and yellows, the sounds of singing birds and the counting of my blessings to pause and praise…
Amen and thank You Lord…
Amen
Amen
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain…
