On HIS Track LOVE

Standard

Old tracks, new view… However God is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow. God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change.

I re-educated myself this morning on the local hubs train station, in what folks would say is not the best neighborhood, but it’s cheap with $2 plentiful garage parking and quick $2.90 tap of a card to ride into the city. It’s always the debate of driving into the city and parking, which I did yesterday at $16 earlybird, but today felt I had the extra time to try this route, was about the same time… I did ride on this elevated stretch years ago, it’s better now. Everyone now is on their phone, busy subdued folks just traveling. No vagabond activity now that it’s well policed inside the terminal. Clean enough too. And good weather today. I feel blessed to travel.

Actually today I remember taking this exact train years ago, and saw a famous lical talent, who passed away 1 year ago today and the anniversary reminds us to “be extra kind to someone today” – “do random acts of kindness” – that’s good to remember every day.

Weather changes, tracks change, people change, yet God’s Word, mercy, grace are not even weathered, they are new each day. God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change. Be kind today in a new old way…

Seems appropriate to talk about the old subject of change, and of newness, as I go to a 2-day conference about science in the convention center. I must acknowledge the improvements here in an OLD CITY, old transportation platforms, around old buildings and modern architecture. New tap, new cameras, new opportunities. New sounds, old sounds. It’s like life is on old tracks but a new view. And that’s life every day, a new view.

We are renewing and sometimes regressing. However God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change.

I saw old friends yesterday, will re-see them and surely meet new if temporary ones today that I networked with yesterday at this science automation and management meeting. Friends (work or otherwise) also change, but being friendly is still a classic trait. A round robin networking event for women yesterday was enjoyable. I sat and the others rotated. Same seat, new view.

Our view changes. However God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change.

There’s little free food here, not that level of sponsorship, but the chocolate at the vendors and some cookies and pens and gadgets, it was fine but the chocolate fix didn’t satisfy me like the old days of my youth. No fix, even if same (or downgraded) candy, even with same name, but I have a new preference for better taste now. I’ve changed, and I will change again, even daily.

We change, life changes. However God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change.

It’s like the Christmas prep now (that I saw getting off the train) it seems out of season but it’s not, I saw them installing the temporary skating rink, tent, food hub, that takes time. I’m sure they are glad for the good weather today for the work. I’m glad to be sitting in the sunshine now.

Seasons will change fast. However God doesn’t change, His Word, Love, Promise, Directives, Comfort, Presence DON’T change.

I’ll just enjoy the hope today, the unknown adventures of turning over the rocks in this stream of life. The people, the present, the persistence, the possibilities.

And I will enjoy the knowledge of the truth. God is still here, has been, will be. Always. Let’s stay On His Track.

Love.

Amen

Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.
