Number one message from God to me these covid months has been: “REST“. Maybe that’s what the cat hears half the time from God too, because even when I had this wake up call at 130 am from God, the cat was still sleeping. I’ve now moved around, because I’m awake, the cat is not amused. Creation is groaning (Romans 8) and the cat’s face grumpingly says: haven’t you figured out that we need rest to be God’s best?

Rest – why? Declutter my brain, make room, process to help tuck loose pieces of the day away. God is wanting to speak into my head to conjoin what is already written on my heart, that which was written before I was born. As a child of God, God reads the Word to you while you sleep.  If you are cluttered in your house, it’s a fire trap, it’s a sign of mental something, or it’s just because, like me, we kinda like lots of good stuff – right? Stuff doesn’t mean that it’s expensive or showy, it’s just accumulated, useful for purposes known and unknown. Maybe you need better storage space for stuff so people don’t know what you have hidden, and instead they can complement your organizational skills. IKEA here we come! 

What about the Word written by Jesus lived by Jesus that rests on your heart? Can you hear Jesus thru the dust? Can you hear Him and see Him clearly? Have you made enough room? Dust His Word off? What about storage space? How organized are you or did you just dump scripture into the big bible bin? That’s what spiritual maturation is all about, pull pieces from the bin to let it sink in. How is your sorting? Need a yard sale? Better yet donate your mental state to others who need more scripture stuff. It is said about stuff: “If you really needed it, you will acquire it again”. SO BETTER than stuff, scripture is what sticks with you. AHA! SCRIPTURE STICKS WITH YOU! You can’t give it away. You can try decluttering but the declaration of the Word, for the Word, is trying to get your attention. It pre-knows placement, if you would only give it time to mentally stick. Your stuff can be pre-drilled as puzzling pieces, waiting to fit.

REST – my brain never gets caught up with God, now God is catching me up. REST – SO WE CAN WAKE UP – because GOD’S CALLING. 

I just now caught that sneaky Holy Spirit parsing out some messages in my latest dreams from God -about my future – it was 3 dreams back when I awoke at 1:30 am. Something Holy Spirit for sure. I can barely remember, if I did I would write it, but the next 2 dreams cluttered my now awake brain and yet those dream memories are escaping quickly.  I surely pray my heart brain connection won’t lose whatever God said. The point is that God’s in charge. God’s Spirit is decluttering your brain in dreamland to sort, store and give away. IKEA has nothing on God’s ability to process and position your mind. God says: “REST: so you can then TEST what new thinking ground has been uncovered. 

What did God say? My friends have been resting too, they have been hearing from God’s angels sorting their dreams, fears, plans, blockades, stuff. Now that’s a mental mystery – angels moving stuff. You heard of angel armies? How about Angel  “You got junk?” Armies angling for your attention? No worries, they are pre-paid.

Yup. We got junk. I got junk. God’s only trying to get your Spirit out from under your Stuff. God is decluttering your brain. 

Mentally let the dreams come. Let go of the old you.

Move forward – Jesus said let the dead bury the dead – the Holy Spirit works to herd haul the junk away for every day to become a fresh day. Our loss is His Gain. 

Move into your new mental space – Jesus is already speaking into your heart, ask the Lord to lighten up the mental path for you to follow. 

Move – ask the Holy Spirit to help you move. Look – look at your new place, your new space – then pull out your toolbox of faith building and grace. 

Grace – start freaky fresh. GRACE. Out with the old you. You, you are a new creation. You bee new. New you is now real. You aren’t just dreaming about your life changes, you are ALIVE in CHRIST implementing them.

Hang up a new sign: “This is Jesus’s Place”. He already knows my name. My loss is His Gain.

Romans 8:26-30

the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
