Awakening before Reckoning

Standard

I was re-reading a blog that covers the book of Revelation and the great awakening that will come before the reckoning and last days… I find that so many people have not ventured into these pages of Revelation – I feel it is like the goldmine of knowledge – like what IS behind that giant locked door on the Price is Right game show – well – Jesus gave us the combination to open it – so don’t delay in turning the wheel and driving into the book…

The book of Revelation reminds me of how it pains me to say to people, when the conversation goes there, that things are only going to get worse before they get better. Yeah – that is a realist who is an optimist too. Optimist for the Great Awakening and doing what I can to help make that happen – and Realist for what I see and experience and because I do watch the news and I also watch the ignoring of news too…  How easily we forget of tragedies not in our daily views. We have the greatest expanse into media but we have no time to watch it anyway – nor do we know what to see and filter.

The bible is the ONE place that tells it as it is. AND we can go there because it IS in front of us.

We need Awakening before Reckoning – and they both are close around the corner.

We need to be a part of that Great Awakening… both by believing ourselves, showing our faith, and teaching about the Jesus we know and how others could dig into their own faith and see if they can talk with Jesus…  How will anyone know their faith unless they think about their faith… Now is not the time to reach to just those we already know who have faith but to reach to others to strengthen their faith and learn of faith… One of my favorite things about Easter is the families that do come back together for the services and grandkids can see what their grandparents are devoted to – and understand the relevance of faith. If we don’t show reverence then we wont ever show relevance to our situations. We got to show the world’s people that we know where to find support when times get tough. Like sheltering in the strongest part of the house when a tornado comes by.

This blog I read speaks of the judgements and trials as described in Revelation and we have 2 responses from them – to draw closer to God OR to rebel…  Trust me, in these times, I think there is no time like the present to be present with listening to and for God. Draw closer.

Jesus speaking to the church at Sardis: which was not perfect: “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee”. Revelation 3:2-3

This is the quote that sums up that blog: “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11

This link was the blog I was reading (it is 10 years old but still relevant because it is based on the bible and that never changes) – i know nothing about this preacher or church or background or anything – but the blog is a good read of reaching into our readings in the book of Revelation and learning about the Lord:
