Bobble, 25MAR – #540

Bobble, 25MAR

You know sometimes (well ALL the time, and especially during Holy Week) we need to “Be Still” and remember the stabilization that Christ gives us. His comfort. His peace.

Often I bet that you, like me, would like to stop the head spinning times and find focus…  Even when we keep busy we sometimes can be so Martha-like that we end up spinning our wheels…

Jesus says:  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

We sometimes work SO hard at keeping ourselves afloat that we become like those red and white fishing bobbles, jumping up and down, sinking then bobbing up, oh the spinning…

How can we stabilize our emotional rollercoasters? Where do we attach our anchors? Where do we cast our lines?

We are to remember, especially at Easter, how much God has loved and still LOVES us… Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

God has sent us a life-saver… if we are a bobble that may float in the water, it’s because of the lift of an air-filled pocket inside… if we are a child of God, it’s because of the LIFT of a Holy Spirit-filled pocket in our soul…

How can we keep our wild ups and our downs on an even plane? It’s about finding our focus to keep from sinking. Sometimes there are snags in the water that will catch our bobbles – stuck – yet what do you think would be the best snag? What if you could sink your hook into wood the shape of a cross? Ah wood floats, Christ floats … If we are accepting that we don’t want to tred water alone, that we do need stabilization for this life and forever, then we ought to long to be caught forever on this floating cross – linked with our fellow swimming souls we can travel together… Let us carry our own crosses, and while we carry each other’s burdens, let us not caught up in the current of woe…

Stabilization – we may not completely stabilize in this world, but in our new life in the risen Christ we will find eternal rest… While in this life can share our joys, lift each other’s spirits, and “do good to all”…

My bobble, I will look for the Spirit-lift, I will try to snag myself into the loving arms of Christ – my Fisherman, my Savior,  my Lord.

I pray you all find comfort in His catch.
