That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles, 15JUN – #1183

Standard

We are to be miniature versions of Jesus. (Actually He would want us equal in Spirit-drivenness.)

I bought a big cookie for my son, he then left it in the car and I envied him for the cookie. He did eventually eat some, and it got more and more broken as it was moved around in the car. A big cookie is beautiful and yummy looking. The cookie broken tastes just the same, but we might not want to eat it compared to the whole, unless we were the ones who broke it ourselves.

Jesus was broken in body and yet full of a Spirit to surrender – and in His brokenness He was even MORE powerful over sin and death. A broken bread body, a broken heart, and a LOVE for a broken world. The Power of His Knowledge of God’s plan gives Hope for the children of God. Jesus knew His crumbles counted.
We too should taste the crumbles and know they are sufficient. We should not envy the perception of perfection or those who boast they can solve the world’s problems and bring their own agenda hidden under the guise of peace.

Jesus was broken so that we can see nothing hidden. He allowed Himself to be broken for the sake of love. Jesus opened up the truth and freed us to receive the Spirit. We can taste of His victory even we do it only in part in our earthly state. A crumb of the cookie is just as sweet. Don’t envy the perfect unbroken cookie, taste of the crumbs… Know they are sufficient.

Amen

(PS, I had a broken cookie to photograph but it’s gone… I guess it was good to eat – even the crumbs)

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 23:17-18 NIV Saying 15

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 NLT
