This piece been rattling in my head since the pancake piece… Nailed it down early this morning after the scriptures found me! That’s the way God works…
———–

A few years ago, when the kids were little, I used to clean and then pick up and save the tiniest Polly Pocket or Barbie shoes out of the vacuum cleaner or the dustpan dirt… I still do that for expensive legos… And when I clean in my bedroom, I’m always looking for lost earrings…. so I ALWAYS have to look at the dirt, because there might be gems in there…

Jesus, at the request of God our Father, does the same thing in our souls, especially when we fix our gaze on HIM…

Dustpan Savior, 29Sep

Hebrews 12
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

When we accept Jesus into our hearts and allow Him to grow, we are asking Him to mature us, and save us from our sinful ways. We may resist at times, but it’s best we refocus and restart our faith… Start fresh and ask Jesus for guidance to “create in me a clean heart” as the song lyric goes… ask HIM to clean, hand Jesus the dustpan to help but take the self-action to start sweeping yourself clean…

God Disciplines His Children
Hebrews 5: “… do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his child.”
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?”

Jesus is not JUST there for sweeping, Jesus is there to look into that dustpan and start lifting pieces of you up – to save and savor and BE savior… Imagine each piece of your soul lifted lovingly by His hands and then imagine He blows all the dust off the pieces with a spirited breath to reveal how internally and eternally beautiful you are in God’s eyes.

1Corinthians 1:
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

You were made by God as a temple to worship Him, therefore he wants to polish you… Jesus knows while holding the dustpan that there’s some good chunks in the accumulated bit of dirt, He knows to not throw away the gems… Jesus looks, recovers, rebuilds, renews, resurrects – you are reborn right in His hand….

1 Corinthians 2
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

We must work with Jesus, HE is willing to put in the work cleaning our temple, we also should… Many hands make LIGHT work… Let the LIGHT of Jesus work… He died to be risen – for lighting your path… For lighting my path…

1Corinthians 3:
16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”
——-
1Corinthians 4
“5 He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.”

He knows the WAY… He’s been there and He came back for us… “let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith”

Blow off our dust Lord, find YOUR gems… Make us realize we are loved we are eternally beautiful in Your eyes…

Amen
