Our Daily Peace, 20MAY – #1158

Standard

Lord, give us our daily peace.

On my evening walk, the air was cooling down from a summer day in the off-season, but the peace was perfectly timed and placed. The peace of walking with the Lord, thinking about His walk, guiding my walk, is a moment I treasure, even if I know that He often walked with pain at the known unraveling of people. He kept walking. At first I walked by some sounds of people complaining, and it surely hurt the Lord’s ears as it hurt mine. Then I walked filled with my thoughts of weird times, weird daily moments, weird things that mean nothing in the bigger picture of my life but could be considered wet paint of things I need to avoid. I walked under the streetlight and saw flowing robes of Jesus reflected in my dress and sweater. He is here. HE IS WITH US ALWAYS.  And He walks…
The Lord shows us daily peace to pass the day, passover the day, pass on the day… Daily peace is for the day, it will be applied again tomorrow, but those troubles belong over there, and so will the peace for that day that will show up again.

Like the Passover lamb, nothing should be left to pass over till tomorrow. No meat, no sun, no sin, no regrets, no worries,  no FOOLING. Jesus absolves all in one pass, each day, every day. One pass. Pass no fear until tomorrow either.

Exodus 12:10-11 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.  This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

I kept walking through the Lord’s peace until I had applied it completely to the day and my mind. I walked until I heard only the rustling trees, the distant chatter, the distant day faded away. I looked at the lighted moon and the stars appeared as if I had forgotten them all day. Just like the stars don’t disappear in the daytime, don’t think that Jesus’s Daily Peace disappears either.

Don’t let any of today’s worries remain, Jesus gave us His Daily Peace.

Amen

Matthew 28:20 Jesus said: “… And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

John 14:25-29 Jesus said: These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.  And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
