Wisdom to Be Thankful

Do we have the wisdom to simply be THANKFUL?

I look at small worries in comparison to MIGHTY BLESSINGS.

God You ARE Good.

One example, I’ve had a job in the same place for 20 years. It’s unique in these times, but nothing compared to the 50 plus years my Dad had at his job, or 35 for my mom who balanced working and time at home… she’s even been retired for 20 years… As we need to work, the wisdom of the Lord teaches us to work hard as if for Him. I’m just grateful that I’ve enjoyed my time. 20 is cool, but hey, so is lots of miles on my Subaru. I DON’T need commending, just realize I am THANKFUL.

Really, do we understand HOW blessed we are for just having the ability to be able and to be working? Do we count our blessings and have WISDOM to be THANKFUL?

We should be THANKFUL. I should be MORE thankful. The phrase “Grin and Bear it” is related surely to scriptures which state to tolerate (1Peter 2). Yes, trials, but wisdom says Grin and Bear it… Scriptures being the Word, being Jesus, is our primary example to tolerate and invigorate, forgive and live.

Solomon prayed for WISDOM. Not praying for wealth. God gave him both. The people were many, they provided 12 months year round for Solomon. Solomon had wisdom pour into and out of Him. It was a time of serving the kingdom and knowing the blessings of the Lord.

I can only glimpse at blessings that will be immense when we get to the Lord’s kingdom. Let us remember those, especially in war-torn places, who are struggling. Let us not forget to count on the Lord’s WISDOM to light our way. If we use WISDOM (and ask for more of it), we must then be willing to use it, especially in thankfulness.

Be Thankful.

Be Blessed.

Be Wise.

Be His.

Lord, I am Thankful…

1 Kings 3:20-34

Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry. And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal, Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl. For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.

And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

Look! I made the big screen!

I am THANKFUL for a great place to work!

20 years anniversary at CRL Malvern and Wayne.

I am blessed!!! The BEST people, that’s what makes it the best place. Important projects, that’s what makes it important to go to work. A job that fed and housed my family, funds my Subarus, and gives such good flexibility, that’s a Godsend. (And NOW, a job to keep Mom busy while the kids do their own thing, LOL!)

20 is unique in these times, but nothing compared to the 50 plus years my parents did. 20 is cool, but hey, so are lots of miles on my Subarus. I DON’T need commending, just me realizing I am THANKFUL.

HOW blessed for the ability to be working, count blessings and have WISDOM to be THANKFUL.

Lord, I am Thankful…
