“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.“

When you do something in God’s Name – pray in Jesus’s Name – it is because you believe in God’s Fame – DO THIS SO THAT others will know what you are doing and what you are talking about… We are called to educate – don’t assume others have heard anything of the bible except a movie reference here and there….  When other’s have heard some – then have a conversation with them about how it makes them feel…  the key first is to TALK ABOUT IT…  Yes, let other’s know where God has blessed you – how God has gotten you out of a jam – where you have found solace in God – how He is your ALL IN ALL….  and of course – explain what it means to say He is your Lord and Savior – perhaps others need to hear what that really means in your life… Perhaps others need to hear that you are devoted…  Perhaps others need to see your life CHANGED by this devotion.

Explain “In God’s Name”  – and that will “help” His Fame. 

Now, God doesn’t REALLY need our help with anything – He is God for God’s Sake…  but does He WANT our help? YES!!!!!!!!!! The Great Commission does tell us to go out and teach whole nations for Him – that always starts with one person – and it starts with you.

And our living good lives will also explain/show how He is someone we SHOULD listen to…

Let us WORK in God’s Name… 

Let us recognize Him in our Frame…

Let us be grateful for God’s Fame…

Let us know that He takes away our Shame…

Thank you Lord how we can pray in Your Holy Name.

Letter of Paul to the Colossians 3:1-2, 8-10, 12-17

Living as Those Made Alive in Christ

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
