In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.Well, my brain doesn’t shut down at night, but I believe God DOES open up the MANY half-closed folder tabs that are filled with WAY TOO MANY half thoughts (plus a sea of sticky notes) and He starts pulling on the tangled mess, teasing tangled strings to unravel, to re-roll memories into a smooth ball of yarn, so perfectly lined up like ONLY He could do it. Reconciliation really… Saving sanity from a swamp. Swamped brain tabs are like wet soaked strings, needing to dry out before they can be rolled. Rolled before they can be knitted. Swamped is what we can get, no matter if life takes us up to our knees in water or over our heads. SWAMPED.
When I remember snippets of dreams, especially from middle of the sleep cycle wake-ups, it’s jarring and important to know where I was going off the beaten track of thought. And how Genius God is to invent such a saving soothing system!… (Sleep cycles like riding on His Unicycle Bicycle… No, actually we are on God’s Tricycle super steady Three in One, less likely to teeter. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.)
ANYWAY,,,!!! Back on THIS train of thought… When I wake up from a dream, I realize God is like setting His Hands to work out a knot in us, to rescue seedlings of thoughts entrenched in weeds, to pause a moment to unfuzz the unfaithfulness or failing moments that the brain (my brain) could go into. Stop the show. Unravel, Unroll, Unreel and Unreal the tape. Reconcile the raw spots to re-wrap the yarn strings of thoughtful thoughts better and leave the rest on the cutting room floor. (Thanks for Vinedresser pruning)… I believe we sleep because we need to Be Still, and know that He is God over our genius and our garbage. God is God and so Good to NEVER be swamped. God grants a Holy Spirit Hoverboat? No, Jesus jumps right in. Swamp Savior.
Jesus. Thank God for JesusJumping, Your Genius not ours. Please rescue our swamp and our sanity. Reconcile.
Psalm 32 and 33 are written of JOY, but interestingly Psalm 34 is by David, writing after GOD GOT HIM OUT OF A JAM…. Wacky is the Word gone Wild… David had to escape enemies one time by PRETENDING HE WAS INSANE. Really all types of tangled messes of situations are covered in the Bible. “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”
That Whole story unrolled in 1Samuel 22, So David pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their hands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard…. WOW!!! David got out, he knew he was rescued!
We need rescuing, our thoughts and our souls. Not by going wacky but by going to the Word. Jesus jumps in and hands UP our hang-ups. The Holy Spirit intercepts the dropped calls. God’s forgiveness is IN Him forging some good needed rework to recreate His created “Very Good” Work. He takes your clay and reshapes it. He takes the wacky out of your wobble. He is. Let us rejoice and be glad. We have God as a LOVING Dad. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation… 2Cir
REJOICE THE UNJAMMING. GOD’S RECONCILIATION takes fixing Swamped Sanity SERIOUSLY.
Amen!!!

Psalm 33
Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.
From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth – he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 34
Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
