I woke up and was distracted immediately. I knew I wanted to write not just once but two things for God because I promised Him yesterday I would write twice because Tuesday I was so busy I didn’t have time to write – and God is a merciful God and there is no reason why I HAVE to write except for 1) He wants me to, and 2) I need to, and 3) I want to, and 4) it makes me feel better to have written, and 5) well, I promised God that I would write twice. I found that it makes me be able to move on with my day if I know I have written a devotion – checked in with Him – tried to encourage others…
So – before I wrote this (and the other one that I promised two – knowing that the other writing was a checklist “to-do list” with, for, and in/of God – I did a few things distractedly – I get distracted by doing. I did 1) naturally turned over and said yes Lord I will write but just a bit more sleep, 2) naturally used the bathroom, 3) naturally raced in my brain to figure out what day of the week it was, 4) knowing it was still early early morning (and what an amazing sunrise) calmed myself down because I didn’t have to race anywhere, 5) thought about the day’s task (which is finishing prep for tonight my youngest is having people over), 6) started putting away the dishes then stopped (because that can wait), 7) thought about moving laundry then stopped (because that can wait), 8) marvelled again at the sunrise – knowing that it is unusually warm for this time of year – knowing that I had cleaned the outside yesterday and was grateful – and I grabbed my laptop and came back to bed to start writing… 9) wrote this “distracted by doing” before I wrote the devotion I really want to write – the checklist “to do list” of God – with God – for God – stuff that is before all this…
I was distracted by doing – but I still lived in and under the Love of the Lord – but yeah – our brains can get distracted and what does the Lord say? “I got this, My child” – I will give you hope and a future – keep looking towards me while you are working – while you are resting – while you are hopeful and when you get back from being distracted, remember that I am always here – never left you – always knew you and know you now. You don’t have to do anything for Me to be close to you – but it is good that you draw close to ME.
Ok – I think I am ready to be less distracted and get the first devotion now written (second…) – so here it is…
“To Do List” For, By, In, With God (obviously so much more, thousands more, in not a priority order but simply an everything everything, than these but here is a go at a list – feel free to add your own!!! and feel free to just know God knows and just be)
1) Know God Exists
2) Know God IS LOVE
3) Know God LOVES you
4) Love God back (and forward)
5) Love others as you would love yourself
6) Know that we are human and not God
7) Know that God already knows we are human
8) Know God has Grace, God has Mercy, God has Patience, God has TIME
9) Be Still and Know that God is God and has a plan
10) Know God IS, Know God as the I AM – nothing is higher than God
11) Know God in all His Ways and Forms and Motivations – but know this is in a HIGHER WAY and not just in our labels. Know God as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and by the Holy Spirit – Three in One.
12) Know Jesus as God and as in His Sacrifice
13) Repent in asking forgiveness for we have fallen short (and always will) but God Loves us to have sacrificed for us… Review the commandments and abide and yet remember Jesus forgives because we do fall, and will always fall short.
14) Love sacrificially like Jesus did
15) Wear the Armor of God – and keep living
16) Be the Hands and Feet of God
17) Rest in God, Listen to His Plan, Know when to Hold, Know when to Go
18) Don’t let anyone else tell you that you are not worthy – God already has told us we are worth BECAUSE of Him.
19) Know You are Forgiven
20) Remember HIM and Thank HIM – God, All in All, LOVE, HOPE, EVERYTHING, THE GREAT I AM, ALPHA AND OMEGA, OUR FATHER, OUR FRIEND, more than we could ever imagine…
AMEN times forever.
Amen
