A friend gets a new faith word of the year, each year… This year her Word is “Love”. Love is a great Word because God is Love, Love is God, Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus says to LOVE. “Love one another as I have Loved you.”
Perhaps you have a new/old faith word as well.
I believe that my word should be this year, 2 words, “By Faith” – That what we ask for, as in things, we should ask for in the Lord’s name and what we asked to do or to go we should ask to do them “BY FAITH”. Lord-willing. Not spoken boldly but quietly and under the breath even. Spoken in faith by asking the Lord, not demanding… Always in an ask, confident that the Lord will answer!!! Either it will happen or it won’t.
The Lord has plans for you that you can NOT imagine.
Imagine that the Lord has BETTER plans for yoy than you have for yourself. Believe it.
Plan to follow the Lord. (And try really really hard to listen and obey.)
Really – this is a Godly pursuit but it has a positive human side-effect: “By Faith” gives CONTENTMENT, as well as self-discipline, especially for the realization that there are things we can and cannot do, places we can and cannot go, plans we cannot have unless the Lord agrees and builds them for us. There is nothing that helps us more into peace than to follow the Lord’s plans. Sometimes we will ask: “Why am I here Lord?” – “Why am I waiting” – “What is this side-tracking for?”. We may not get an answer we understand – or it may take a while – but CONTENTMENT (not compromise or complacency) true CONTENTMENT only comes with the PEACE you accept from the Lord’s pace for you and how He has you placed.
Peace by Place and Pace.
… Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:14
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24
Advancing God’s work—which is by faith. Paul to 1Timothy 1:4
Fan into flame the gift of God… For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. Paul to 2Timothy 1:6-7
You have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Paul to the Colossians 3:1-4
Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the word, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
Fight the good fight of the faith.
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. Paul to 1Timothy 6:6-12, 17-19
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10
AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS. Philippians 4:4
