Jesus speaks, recorded in Matthew’s chapter 5, of how He, God, Son of God and Son of Man, bring fulfillment to the law: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the law until everything is accomplished.”
The stroke of a pen, or a feather, or ? I looked up what Moses might have written with because MOSES WROTE DOWN THE LAW. And what did Moses write on? likely leather – likely skin. The internet is full of pharisees and heresies, fake say, hearsay, who knows say… Can we believe Jesus KNEW what was written down? Yes. Because Jesus was that Word and He took it Walking. Jesus in the skin of the Savior walked with us and His Word was His Willingness.
Look at all the media writing methods that go obsolete, floppy disks, the bricks of old phones, the typewriter, the telegraph. Does Jesus go obsolete? No.
How did Jesus fulfill the law? He RESTORES the lost connections of love. Jesus restored the respect from commandments one to ten. Love is God. God is Love. Jesus restored the power of LOVE to save. Jesus restored the respect we can repay Our Father – we can obey. Jesus restored the fulfillment of not the flesh but the Forever. No one need be jealous anymore or steal. From Him flows life, good things all unmeasurable.
The most important life-giving, promise- fulfilled, battle won GIFT we have is to follow the One who walks with us. JESUS. Teaching all the Way. If we question and find media lacking, pen strokes slipping, telephone game dropped calls, we simply and steadily can and need to walk up to the One who wrote it, devoted it, gave it. Jesus fulfilled His purpose of God’s Power to Save the condemned people.
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
