I do wish often to think of what Jesus was thinking this Holy Week, on the way, in His Way, to the cross.
But then I just realized, what if Jesus took His Own advice. “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
Yes! Jesus, who relied upon God to give Him direction and instructions, also would have been thinking and living in the present. He knew the future, thus saying and knowing: “each day has enough trouble of its own.”.
Jesus knew the past, the future, IS Alpha and Omega, and yet Jesus took one step at a time, took time for those He needed to be with that day. He absorbed the day for itself and said each day was enough for each day.
I have been helping my son practicing driving. A BIG important skill is to pay attention to your depth perception. YES, Jesus had/has the ultimate depth perception of seeing thru time, thru people, thru His Journey. He spoke to Our Father every step of the way. (I trust in God in this new day of driving, it’s the best way to walk with the Lord thru the day)
So, be like Jesus today, be WITH your family and friends, co-workers and those God needs you to be around, and those He wants around you. Be like Jesus and take time away to pray. Be like Jesus and perceive and know ahead, but keep your mind and emotions in today. How else could Jesus sit down to eat and to pray unless that WAS what he needed to do that moment of that day.
Good Friday is the day Jesus picked up His Cross, but Holy Thursday is the day He picked up His Feet and kept walking for His Mission. Each day and Today IS a day for us to live thru the Word while walking in the World. Know next week is coming, but stay on task today.
Be in the moment. Jesus is.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34 NIV
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:34 KJV
