God Made Fridays

Standard

I always marvel at the concept that things were so much better in the past, because it’s dependent upon how far back you look at life. Are we talking the Fifties? My Dad said Happy Days was fictional, it wasn’t really like that. Are we talking 1700’s? I am sure unless you were wealthy that you worked day and night and never sat down to check Facebook.

It is a fair claim that some things were better for some people then and some other things are better for some people now. Some groups of people had it better off and some did not. Some individuals made the most of any situation they were in then, and some do that now.

Make the best of it. That’s a scripture too, actually lots of scriptures, actually the whole book. “Whistle while you work” or “Grin and bear it” – attitude is EVERYTHING. Friday? That’s TGIF, but only because Saturday is off, it’s different for different people who work Saturday. The other week I was off on Friday so Thursday was my Friday. I used to have a plaque saying that said “Everyone need a Saturday on a Wednesday.”

Attitude, it’s all in attitude. Attitude like Free Will is something God puts in our hands, with tweaking by His Spirit. He can help us refocus and recognize blessings where others see bad stuff. God can reframe challenges into skill-building experiences that serve us better than the fault took us down. We can rise in His Strength. We can make the BIGGEST realization that “I AM A CHILD OF GOD!””

Friday attitude is different than Monday, God made Fridays TGIF! But God made Mondays too. Actually, you already know, GOD made EVERYDAY – but gave people the opportunity to name them – and He gives us the opportunity to make the best of our attitude too. Today, let’s embrace TODAY and make the most of it.

Today remember YOU ARE GOD’S VERY GOOD CREATION. YOU ARE LOVED!!!

God made you HIS!

AMEN

HAPPY FRIDAY! (as my friend Sheila always says)

Psalm 37:16 of David

It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.

1John 4:7-11

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances. You are a child of God. Stand up straight.”

Maya Angelou, Rainbow in the Cloud: The Wisdom and Spirit of Maya Angelou

“You Say” by Lauren Daigle

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough.

Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up.

Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low.

Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know.

Ooh-oh

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing

You say I am strong when I think I am weak

And you say I am held when I am falling short

And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours

And I believe (I)

Oh, I believe (I)

What You say of me (I)

I believe

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me.

In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity.

Ooh-oh

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing.

You say I am strong when I think I am weak.

And you say I am held when I am falling short.

When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours

And I believe (I)

Oh, I believe (I)

What You say of me (I)

Oh, I believe.

Taking all I have, and now I’m laying it at Your feet.

You have every failure, God, You have every victory.

Ooh-oh

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing

You say I am strong when I think I am weak

You say I am held when I am falling short

When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours

And I believe (I)

Oh, I believe (I)

What You say of me (I)

I believe

Oh, I believe (I)

Yes, I believe (I)

What You say of me (I)

I believe
