Our Ultimate Reunion: Heaven

Standard

I love Reunion weekend, love my Alma mater, love my friends and the new friends who we meet here. Last night we (4 of us in our class) connected with a new “Reunion friend” from another class year, while watching the fireworks! Connections were made all day really, as we did all weekend, with those who share this same love of the place and how it shaped our lives.

Is not that even MORE true in Heaven? Oh we connect and will connect with unbelievable numbers of believers. And a blessing to connect now. If we ever doubt where we are in life, let us just check back in with the Lord. Just like new friends can be forged, with people who are like minded, and have genuine interest in you, we can connect on the freshway every day with a new mindset (and the old) with the Lord, Who already knows you best, and longs to know you and have you know Him.

I have really enjoyed my summer morning,  old friends and new.

I’ve added more photos to the big album:

Including yesterday looking at the equestrian area, new all sports fields, the nearby lake, having breakfast lunch and dinner with fellow alumni, and of course, a visit again to the local watering hole… it’s so good to be back. It’s so good to have had these memories, and it is priceless to make more…

All while still remembering, our citizenship is not here on earth, it is Heaven, the ultimate Reunion…

Amen

Philippians 3:17 – 4:9 NKJV

Our Citizenship in Heaven

Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Be Anxious for Nothing; Think These Thoughts

Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.

Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer

I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
