Corpus Christi – Jesus is the Bread of Life – amen to the truth and believing in it. This was a feast day, and the wonderful message we heard on vacation day yesterday. 

We had a marvelous weekend in NYC and us early birds walked over to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral for Sunday mass. It was beautiful and full. The priest sweatedly wiped his brow early in the service. We sat close up front, and I prayed away any coughing fits, I listened more than sang, and the meaning of the words of The Word resonated. Jesus IS the Bread of Life, He reminds us that He is all we need. True. My friend pointed out the amazing Holy Spirit Dove sculpture on the heights of the rising arches. The ornation grand but not overdone. The candles we lit for devotion were knowing we were carrying the Light forward from our loved ones. 

We loved simply walking into the space, the place, the grace. 

The weather has been hot and sticky and if we were actually proofing bread dough, it would overflow in the conditions. That’s a good thought of how we should celebrate Jesus who came as proof, rose as promised, and IS as Bread of Life. Jesus then should overflow from us. Jesus feeds the need, our need, the world’s need if only the world would hunger for Him more. Like the 5000 plus fed, many marvel but do they understand? We all chase other threads of distractions. We need more to hunger for Jesus’s trueness.

We, we need to hunger for Jesus and trust and be filled by Him. Jesus told us that ALL we truly need is Him. John 6 gospel recounts in wisdom how Jesus said that those who don’t see Him but know Him, believe Him, trust Him, are truly blessed. And that His role is doing God’s will, His will, to SAVE. To raise up with Him.

Now ‘coincidentally’ John 6 is the theme of the Bible study I participate in on Sunday nights. Never a coincidence obviously because obediently we must believe that God has everything under control and uses all teachings all scripture to sharpen us, encourage us, inspire us, and comfort us.

Jesus IS the Bread of Life WITH PROOF, PURPOSE, PLANS, AND POWER. 

PERFECT PEACE PRESENCE.

Raised up Righteousnessly, Really.

Verses 35-40 NKJV  And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
