The Palm of God’s Hand

Standard

I’d rather be held in the palm of God’s Hand,

Than live in the lap of luxury.

I’d rather be a sheep of our Shepherd,

Than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I’d rather follow the Light of the world,

Than be a flash in the pan.

I’d rather be humble,

Than be filled with any false pride.

I’d rather be walking alone with the Lord,

Than following the crowd.

I’d rather follow a narrow path to life,

Than a wide swath of destruction.

I’d rather ride the waves,

Than rock the boat.

I’d rather Jesus HAD me,

Than me have anything.

Amen

Deuteronomy 13:1-4

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

I’d Rather Have Jesus

Rhea Miller/George Beverly Shea

“I’d rather have Jesus  than silver and gold.

I’d rather be His, than have riches untold.

I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands.

I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand

Chorus:

Than to be the king of a vast domain

Or be held in sin’s dread sway.

I’d rather have Jesus than anything

This world affords today.

I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;

I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;

I’d rather have Jesus than worldwide fame.

I’d rather be true to His holy name [Chorus]

He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;

He’s sweeter than honey from out the comb;

He’s all that my hungering spirit needs.

I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead [Chorus]
